One of our specialties is roses. The year we offer will over 100 varieties of antique, old and own root roses. The roses have been around for generations, and for good reason! Disease and pest resistant, these varieties require little care and will be highlights in your garden for years to come. In addition, we carry all the Earthkind varieties, which have been extensively tested by Texas A&M University for hardiness, long bloom time, and easy care.
Our display gardens showcase our plants in natural settings. Wondering what herbs grow in Texas? Looking for that cottage garden look? Think you have too much shade to get color? Take a stroll through our gardens to see sample beds in full bloom year round.
At the Arbor Gate, we love perennials! These attractive plants are Texas tough, as well as wildlife friendly. Dependable, hardy and exceptional performers, perennials are mainstays of any garden design.
Herbs are another specialty here. In February 2005, our herb garden was officially dedicated to Madalene Hill, noted herbalist and author of Southern Herb Growing. You will find the varieties offered are best suited to the unique Gulf Coast climate. A diverse selection of herbs is offered year round. Looking for that hard to find native plant? Native plantings are a must in habitat gardening. Our carefully selected varieties will enhance any native garden design. If low maintenance is a priority, then these Texas gems are a must have!
